Metal — the summary
Summary — metal
In its favour:
- condenses more effectively than glass,
- with copper and acid-resistant steel, the effect on health is negligible or at least arguable — sources disagree on whether meaningful amounts of metal oxides reach the distillate,
- survives knocks far better than glass,
- price against the amount of distillate is better than with glass.
Against it:
- with anything other than copper or acid-resistant steel, it is bad for your health — metal oxides come off during the first several runs,
- harder to keep clean than glass.
